Kalleh Ghouchi pistachio is one of the most commercial and highly sought-after pistachio varieties in both Iran and international markets. Due to its large size, excellent taste, and high percentage of open-mouth nuts, it is a favorite among buyers. Kalleh Ghouchi pistachio belongs to the round-shaped pistachio category and, due to its low ounce count, is primarily offered in luxury and export markets.
Kalleh Ghouchi pistachio has a relatively large, round shape with a light cream-colored shell and a greenish-yellow kernel. Its high-fat content gives it a rich and delightful taste, making it softer in texture compared to some other pistachio varieties. The naturally high percentage of open-mouth nuts enhances its market appeal.
This pistachio is mainly cultivated in Kerman province, particularly in the cities of Rafsanjan, Zarand, and Sirjan. It is also grown to a lesser extent in South Khorasan and Yazd provinces.
This variety is classified as mid-ripening, with flowering starting in mid-April and harvesting occurring from early to mid-September.
